A Non-Profit Healthcare Hiring Success Story

When hiring timelines began stretching longer and longer, Altis worked alongside the organization to identify what was causing the delays and create a process that kept searches moving forward.
A national healthcare regulatory body came to us with several open positions that needed to be filled. While there was no shortage of qualified candidates, the hiring process wasn't moving as efficiently as it needed to.
Feedback from hiring managers was taking longer than expected, interview decisions were delayed, and candidates were spending weeks waiting for next steps. In some cases, resume reviews were taking as long as 74 days.
The impact was significant. Strong candidates were accepting other opportunities, hiring timelines were slipping, and key positions remained open longer than planned.
The organization needed more than recruitment support. They needed a hiring process that would allow good candidates to move through the funnel and reach the finish line.
We started by looking at the process itself.
Working closely with the HR team, we reviewed hiring timelines, feedback patterns and candidate progression to better understand where delays were occurring. The data helped identify several opportunities to improve collaboration and speed up decision-making.
To support those conversations, we developed a Hiring Partnership Roadmap. The document outlined key stages in the hiring process, established clear expectations around feedback and scheduling, and provided benchmarks that helped stakeholders understand how their timelines compared with similar organizations.
Most importantly, it gave everyone a shared view of the process and a common goal: creating a hiring experience that worked better for both candidates and internal stakeholders.
From there, we partnered with HR to re-engage hiring managers, clarify responsibilities and establish more consistent communication throughout the recruitment process.
There was no finger-pointing. Just a practical plan and a commitment to moving forward together.
When hiring slows down, the challenge is not always candidate availability. Sometimes the biggest opportunity lies within the process itself.
By bringing the right people together, creating clear expectations and maintaining open communication, organizations can make better hiring decisions and create a stronger experience for everyone involved.
